Letting go and breathing....

If there's anything I learn at placement, it's that the world is so much bigger than what anyone can ever imagine, and that surviving can be just so terrible to those who have been dealt a bad hand in life...

Was so drained that I was absent-minded enough to board the first train that arrived at the platform and just fall straight into a day-dream... waking up to find myself at Cabramatta rather than at Townhall before realising I took the Liverpool train rather than the one to City. Had to take the train back and managed to catch the last bus back home. Was in severe need of some cheering up so went to Azuma and got a Cheese flavored chiffon slice to chew on while waiting for the bus, but should have bought something even sweeter and sinful, like strawberry cream cake... =( Now I'm just blasting the top 30 Oricon chart into my ears and skipping any slow songs.

"Stop being so emo..."
Who knows what this post will end up being like, but I'm transporting back to Hong Kong.

Never did end up revealing what was inside, did I... hm...

It's a finger! Actually, it's strange, I can no longer eat Chinese sausages without thinking they look like fingers because my dad was chopping these sausages one night while preparing dinner and he chopped off the tip of his second finger. He didn't show us because we were pretty young kids at that time, but I feel the pain right now even just thinking about it. I remember my mum poking through the cooked Chinese sausage pieces on the plate, checking that none of them was the tip of his finger. (His finger grew the tip back, but it's slightly shorter than what it should be...)

I'm sure you're still in the mood to look at food pictures. And I'm sure Chinese sausage will never look the same to you ever again too. This is the definition of "trauma".

This is more dessert! I realised something.. looking at desserts make someone much more cheerful than looking at regular savory dishes. Wait, let me skip this slow song...

This was back to the mango dessert shop with my parents. Fruits with bird's nest on top for the top picture, and this was the all-egg-yolks bird's nest egg custard. Apparently there's been this huge scare in Hong Kong regarding bird flu, so people were scared to eat eggs, especially the yolks.

Still my old camera, but now that I look back at the pictures, they don't look all that bad-quality afterall. It only misbehaves under bad lighting and cannot react quick enough....

Red taxis!

Must have in Hong Kong: the ba gua, and endless bottles of Vitagen/Yakult. Too cheap there!

From Hong Kong Trip
Ba Gua galore!

That night, my parents and I went to meet my auntie and uncle for dinner. My cousin, whom I haven't seen in years, didn't come... because his hair was messy, so he went for a haircut instead... =______=

From Hong Kong Trip
As I said, my old camera dislikes bad lighting...

The food was pretty mediocre too, and as the only "kid" at the table, was also pretty isolated, but that's what family dinners are like... haha

From Hong Kong Trip
Fishie was small but probably the best tasting dish there.

Chow hor fun.

This is also much cheaper in Hong Kong than here, wayyyy cheaper. I was actually craving the chicken essence back in Singapore when I saw it being sold there at, what $16 per half dozen or something?? Compared to maybe $30+ here... some actresses drink one bottle of bird's nest everyday to keep their health up and skin glowing.

Blog therapy isn't working on me, signing off for tonight, will be back when mood picks up.
